Laughter is the best medicine, especially when it comes to treating a bad mood.

You know that warm, contented feeling you get after a good laugh? It’s not just in your head. When we laugh, our bodies take in extra oxygen, which stimulates our organs and causes our brains to release plenty of endorphins.

On top of that, a good fit of laughter activates and then immediately relieves your body’s stress response system, similar to that rush of adrenaline you get after a good jump scare, without any of the terror!

Grab a Snack

As we mentioned at the top of this article, bad moods stem from a simple mix of chemicals in our bodies. So, it makes sense that if you’re dealing with a simple chemical imbalance, you’re more susceptible to bad moods.

These imbalances can stem from everyday things, like not sleeping enough. But one of the most common causes of slight chemical imbalances is hunger.

It may seem like a cop-out to blame a sour mood on your stomach. But, hunger is a bit deeper than whether or not you feel full. A nutritional deficit can also cause significant chemical imbalances that leave you feeling drained or frustrating, even after you’ve eaten.
