Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water.
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice.
  • 1 handful of cilantro, finely chopped.
  • 1 pinch of salt.
  • 1 cup white rice.

Preparation

  1. Place the water, lime juice, cilantro, and salt in a saucepan over high heat, and heat to boiling.
  2. Meanwhile, rinse the white rice very well. When the water is boiling, add the rice and reduce the heat to low. Cover with the lid and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until all the liquid has been completely absorbed.
  3. Once the rice is cooked, stir it. Cover the saucepan and let it rest for 5 extra minutes before serving.

Cook’s Tips

  • If you want rice to taste more intense, you can add vegetables such as onion, garlic clove, tomato sauce, bell pepper or sweet paprika. It’s recommended to pour the vegetables into the saucepan after 10 minutes of rice cooking.
  • For best results, water can be replaced by chicken or vegetable broth. The use of chicken or vegetable broth will make the preparation take longer due to the amount of broth required is triple the volume of rice used.
